Will You Help Us Make It Happen?
Valley View G/T students in Jonesboro, Arkansas have the opportunity to experience something extraordinary this summer — a five-day, expert-led space and technology camp, delivered right at their school. No travel. No barriers. Just an immersive, life-changing STEM experience. But we need your help to make it happen.
What is Mission: RedCode?
Mission: RedCode is a five-day immersive space and technology problem-based learning experience that challenges students to apply design thinking, STEM skills, and engineering principles to solve Mars-inspired mission challenges. Over 5 days (27 instructional hours) students work in collaborative teams, engage in mission planning, analyze real-world data, learn to use AI carefully as a supportive tool for analysis, and make evidence-based decisions under simulated constraints.
Over 5 days, students will:
Practice prototyping solutions and iterating design as they write code and build rockets
Practice effective scientific collaboration and communication and take on real astronaut simulations
Ask questions of real experts in the space industry, and apply what they learn
Gain insight into the technologies, systems, and interdisciplinary expertise that power the modern space workforce
Apply what they've learned throughout the week to a group capstone project
Special guests from across the community will join on the final day of camp to judge the projects!
An Astronomical Event!

Commander Susan Kilrain, USN (Ret.) — former NASA Astronaut and Navy Test Pilot — will mentor the Valley View G/T students through two days of space, design, and engineering challenges this June during space camp!
We will also hold an inspiring community lecture event — open to everyone in the Jonesboro community — while Cmdr. Kilrain is here for space camp!
The evening will include handshakes and photos, as well as a special meet-n-greet with Cmdr. Kilrain, in addition to the lecture. This event is FREE and OPEN TO THE PUBLIC, but everyone who attends must reserve a seat. Watch the Valley View School District Facebook page for more information about this special event, to be released in April.
